Samsung is set to release an Olympic edition of the smartphone/tablet hybrid Samsung Galaxy Note in conjunction with the London 2012 OIympic Games

The special edition handset is identical to the Standard 5.3in device, bar a Union Jack cover and an automatic donation of £1 ($A1.59) to the Great Britian Olympics team, according to Twitter pictures spotted by The Verge.

The device does not appear to offer any new features, but given the recent release of Android's 4.0 update for Galaxy Note owners, Ice Cream Sandwich is likely to be available out of the box.
