Apple CEO earns US top dollar

Beats second by $300m.

Apple CEO Tim Cook has topped the list of highest paid CEOs in the United States, beating second place Oracle boss Larry Ellison by over $US300 million.

Cook’s total compensation in 2011 came in at $US378m, thanks to restricted stock grants. His annual salary came in at $US0.90, and $US0.90 for his annual incentives. according to a Wall Street Journal survey.

Cook took over the role in August last year upon former CEO Steve Jobs’ resignation, two months before the Apple co-founder lost his battle with cancer. 

Motorola Mobility chief Sanjay Jha also appeared in the list, as fifth highest earner at $47 million.
