Fujitsu today announced a new partnership with local distributor Open Channel Solutions (OCS) to provide Eternus storage solutions to the Australian reseller community.
OCS, which distributes a range of IT solutions ranging from firewall security to identity management, will offer the Fujitsu Eternus product line to Fujitsu's new and current channel clients.
The distributor will sell select Eternus packages that have been "tailored to meet the requirements of the reseller community in Australia," according to a Fujitsu statement.
Fujitsu Eternus storage is designed to simplify data management and provide seamless scalability with existing IT infrastructures. The solution includes support for disk storage systems, tape systems, data protection appliances and multi-tiered management.
Fujitsu said OCS's understanding of customer business needs was a critical component in providing successful data security, business continuity and efficient operation.
“By offering our storage systems and solutions through a value-added distribution channel we are able to provide the SME and reseller community similar levels of sophistication to that afforded to large corporate customers and users of Fujitsu cloud services," Peter Uher, general manager of Fujitsu Australia’s product group, said in a statement.
"Open Channel Solutions takes a solutions-based approach and allows Fujitsu to further extend its reach via the channel.”
OCS managing director Con Fiamegos said the distributor was working closely with Fujitsu and would undergo technical and sales training as well as dedicated marketing programs.
"We expect high interest in this high-performance, multi-featured storage option,” Fiamegos said in a statement.
The Fujitsu Eternus product line is currently distributed in Australia by Multimedia Technology (MMT), which also provides IT office equipment and assorted networking products.
Fujitsu said the deal with OCS will not affect its current partnership with MMT.
"While we are adding a different distributor, MMT and ICS play in different areas of the market. We see ICS as more of a mid-market play," a Fujitsu spokeperson said.
