Interview: Hitachi says to set up flat TV plant in Europe

Japanese electronics maker Hitachi plans to set up a plant for flat televisions in Europe, and operations are expected to start in January 2007.

TOKYO (Reuters) - Japanese electronics maker Hitachi Ltd. said on Friday it plans to set up a plant for flat televisions in Europe, and operations are expected to start in January 2007.

In an interview with Reuters, Hitachi vice president Makoto Ebata also said the company is considering launching a 60-inch plasma TV model in the business year from April.
