Fairfield City Council has implemented SPL WorldGroup’s enterprise asset and work management software.

Fairfield City Council has implemented SPL WorldGroup’s enterprise asset and work management software.

SPL’s enterprise asset and work management product will give the Council an overview of what assets it owns and the locations and condition; this includes footpaths, roads, parklands, stadiums, reserves and creeks. Previously the Council was using an in-house built legacy system.

SPL's software will capture cost, maintenance and depreciation, and presents the information through a web interface.

Nick Lalich, Mayor of Fairfield City, said Fairfield City Council managed everything from roads, buildings and vehicles to playgrounds, reserves and creeks.

“Putting advanced asset management practices in place will allow us to better allocate ratepayers’ funds, make more informed decisions and improve the lifespan of our infrastructure”, he said.

The contract was put through a tender process in December 2004 and the agreement between the Council and SPL was signed on the 22nd of February 2005.

According to Brenton McPherson, vice president Asia Pacific, SPL WorldGroup the contract was worth several hundred-thousand dollars.
