ISPhone Australasia has selected Equinix’s Sydney Internet Business Exchange (IBX) data centre as a core hub for its IP networks and network exchange services.

ISPhone will deploy operations at Equinix’s Sydney IBX as the primary network interconnection point for the delivery of its wholesale VoIP services to distributors and resellers.

The VoIP vendor will also operate its soft switches, gateways and network equipment at the IBX centre.

Gavin McDougal (pictured), managing director, of ISPhone said instead of relying on one carrier to handle its network, ISPhone can now interconnect directly with many national and international carriers.

Doug Oates, managing director of Equinix Sydney, said the IBX provides ISPhone with the infrastructure to implement a redundant network.
