Resellers to be trained up to set-up managed services practice.

Managed services software provider, Kaseya has launched its first local training program for its existing channel partners who want to establish a Managed Service Provider (MSP) practice.

Kaseya is a provider of IT Managed Service Automation software for service providers and system integrators. The company, officially launched an Australian office last month, will hold technical training courses in Sydney for three-days from the 4 to 6 of June.

Tim Dickinson, country manager for Australia and New Zealand at Kaseya, said the MSP training course will provide channel partners with the skills that they need to set-up an MSP business.

“In the current IT market, there is an immediate need for system integrators to make the transition to providing hosted, managed services, instead of languishing in the traditional break/fix service mentality,” said Dickinson.

The ‘boot-camp’ is an intensive program designed to provide channel partners with all the knowledge, information and tools to jump start a managed service practice with the Kaseya platform, he said.

“The training will be instructor-led and will enable system integrators to be off-site and 100 percent focused on the course. The group setting provides an opportunity to share experiences and ideas with other MSPs as well,” Dickinson said.

“At the end of the program, system integrators will be ready to market, sell and deliver a comprehensive MSP offering. The training program has been very well received in the United States, and now we’re bringing it to Australia to benefit our local MSP partners.”

The MSP boot-camp will cost $995 per person for the three-day course, and will cover topics such as developing and pricing managed services, audit, patch management, real-time monitoring, remote control, branding and customisation.

Kaseya is also planning a series of half-day seminars across Australia and New Zealand, in the second half of May. Seminars are being held in Darwin, Adelaide, Hobart, Canberra, Auckland, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
