Hello,
It was Microsoft's turn to steal some of the limelight from mobile giant Apple last month, thanks to the launch of its home-brand line of tablets.
The Surface devices may well have stolen their name from Microsoft's Samsung-built display table, but that by no means meant the newly-named SUR40 was headed for the recycle bin.
Apple wasn't prepared to give up too much of the spotlight, however, debuting new PCs and upgrades to its operating systems at its worldwide developer conference.
And search giant Google burst onto the scene with the launch of its first tablet. The Nexus 7 is targeted at the lower end of the market, sitting squarely opposite Amazon's Kindle Fire.
