The Australian Government agency is responsible for developing information sharing solutions for law enforcement and assists police nationally in crime-prevention.
Ben McDevitt CEO CrimTrac said Logica was awarded the contract following a competitive tender process to assist the agency consolidate existing technologies and build new infrastructure platforms to support future projects.
"Initially, Logica will design, supply and implement a new resilient, reliable and scalable enterprise-wide ICT midrange infrastructure," he said.
"The company will consolidate IT architectures with VMware, EMC, Oracle and Microsoft, and re-utilise existing infrastructure to deliver the highest possible return on investment."
Logica will also build IT systems for two data centres and implement an enterprise-wide disaster recovery solution.
In April 2010, when the infrastructure transformation has been completed, Logica will administer and manage the environment for the organisation's 220 employees and its customers for a minimum period of three years.
