Alex Kidman is a multi-award winning journalist and veteran of the Australian Technology media space, having started his career more than a quarter of a century ago at Australian Personal Computer Magazine.
Since that time he’s held numerous roles, including editorial roles at CNET.com.au, Gizmodo Australia, PC Mag Australia and Finder.com.au, where he was responsible for editorial planning and covering a wide range of topics including emerging broadband technologies, the rise of the smartphone and IoT devices and the integration of technologies into everything from motor vehicles to doorbells. If it had some kind of chip in it, there’s good odds he wrote about it since the turn of the century.
As a freelance writer, Alex has contributed to a wide array of mastheads including the Australian Financial Review, Sydney Morning Herald, News.Com.Au, The Courier Mail, ABC, GameSpot Australia, PC & Tech Authority, TechRadar, Techly, PC World Australia, Techfinitive. Alex was also the co-host for many years for the award-winning podcast Vertical Hold: Behind The Tech news, diving into the Australian technology space with a who’s who of Australian tech media and experts. He’s also a frequent contributor on ABC Radio covering contemporary technology topics to a wide audience.
