With Meridian IT country manager Steve White.
What infrastructure or cloud vendors underpin your managed services offering?
We are an agnostic cloud services provider and we consult with our clients to determine which workloads are best suited to the relevant cloud solutions, such as Softlayer, AWS, Azure and Meridian IT’s cloud built on Nutanix. We also offer backup-as-a-service, storage-as-a-service and disaster-recovery-as-a-service.
What remote monitoring and management vendors do you work with?
We use and deploy Solarwinds’ N-Able RMM platform to deliver monitoring, automated patch management, application deployment, backup to cloud and risk intelligence services.
What ITSM vendors do you work with?
We are in the process of migrating to the Autotask platform, which we are planning to go live on later this year.
When did your company first get involved in this area?
We have been a managed services provider since 1994 and have made inroads into cloud services over the last five years.
What distributors do you use to support your managed services offering?
Our distributors are Ingram Micro, Arrow ECS Australia, Avnet, Dicker Data and Westcon.
Can you tell us about any recent work you’ve done?
A recent contract was for a not-for-profit organisation in disability services, for which we initially provided a prepaid support service. After demonstrating value through this engagement, we offered managed services and helped the client improve their infrastructure and delivery of IT, enabling Office 365 services and backup-as-a-service with on-premises infrastructure.
What is driving customers towards managed services?
We find that clients are seeing the value in the efficiencies and repeatability they gain working with managed service providers, leveraging our best practices in ITIL and governance in ISO27001 and ISO9001, along with the technical expertise of our staff, which gives them peace of mind.
Managed services is…?
Managed services are able to deliver an efficient and valuable service to organisations, delivering a level of confidence back to the business and showing that IT systems are enablers, not inhibitors.
