The state of IoT at the dawn of 2016
The Internet of Things gained traction at the start of 2016 as vendors launched new connected solutions.
While IoT has always been a somewhat vague term in its implications for channel partners and products that are already on the market, analysts have predicted that connected devices are full of profitable opportunities: In June, market research firm IDC predicted that IoT spending will reach US$1.7 trillion in 2020, while Gartner forecasted that a hefty 21 billion IoT devices will be connected by that year.
