Lenovo today announced the arrival of its new Carbon X1 ThinkPad ultrabook in Australia. The carbon fibre ultrabook was first announced in early August globally, and today begins retailing for $1999 through Lenovo's website as well as Synnex and Dicker Data.
This isn't the X1 ThinkPad. This is one of the first "ultraportable" computers to ever hit the market - a machine launched by IBM in 1987. It's Lenovo's 20th birthday this year, so at the X1's launch today Lenovo highlighted highlighted how far the PC industry has come since then.
