Aussie MSP Virtual IT Group merges with NZ company The Instillery
Merger is a partnership of capabilities across service offerings.
Australian MSP Virtual IT Group (VITG) is merging with New Zealand-based The Instillery to strengthen both company’s geographical reach and service offering to clients across technology, automation and cybersecurity.
The businesses will continue to operate with local leadership teams and brands, while integrating and leveraging shared capabilities to provide technological breadth and depth.
Christian Pacheco, CEO, VITG told CRN Australia there will be no job losses from this deal.
He said, “This partnership is a merger of capabilities across our service offering and market region, rather than a consolidation.”
Through this merger, Pacheco said he wants to have a stronger MSP and MSSP servicing of the NZ and Australian mid-market.
“SMB's and small enterprise can struggle to keep up with the pace of technology change alongside regulatory and top-down pressures around AI security and data protection,” he told CRN Australia.
“We've seen AI driven security breaches increasing at an unprecedented rate.
“This merger supports their ability to give mid-market and small enterprise clients what they need - from access to best-in-class IT services, AI supported ticket resolution, expert IT strategy, fit-for purpose cybersecurity options, and sophisticated breach remediation,” he added.
The Instillery had already begun to expand into Australia with leading technology partnerships with Wiz and Zscaler, including collaborating with VITG on joint customers.
Michael Russell, CEO at Instillery said their journey over the past five years has been to evolve through growth and innovation alongside their customers.
“With Pacheco and the team at VITG, we saw something special. There was an instant connection. We were talking the same language and focused on customer outcomes.”
Russell added, “We’re looking for further opportunities to grow the platform both geographically and with complementary capabilities."
Pacheco explained with this merger they aim to increase their ability to offer their customers flexible, trusted expertise across their IT and cybersecurity security stack.
"Being a MSP and MSSP means we can support and advise customers across the full spectrum of their IT and cybersecurity needs and ensure continuity of service,” Pacheco said.
“This kind of IT and cybersecurity offering continuity doesn't really exist in our region.”
Virtual IT Group was founded in 2015 by Pacheco and employs over 240 staff. The company combines managed IT and cybersecurity solutions with local expertise, providing Australian businesses with the technology solutions and cyber protection.
The Instillery CEO, Michael Russell, founded Origin IT in 2000 before merging with The Instillery and adopting its brand in 2019, it employs over 160 staff.
