Former Logicalis CEO Anthony Woodward has been appointed as Orro’s new chief strategy and transformation officer where he will bring together the entire go-to-market function to help the company’s customers in their IT transformations.

Based in Sydney, Woodward will lead Orro’s company-wide strategy and transformation agenda, aligning its go-to-market activities and unlocking the full value of its end-to-end capabilities across cyber security, networking, cloud, and collaboration services.

Speaking to CRN Australia, Woodward said his role brings together the entire go to market function encompassing marketing, product and service development, and sales.

“As the transformation engine for the business, it brings together the broad capabilities that Orro has acquired over the last few years to deliver a unique blend of offerings that are strategic, meaningful and business-effective for our clients,” he said.

“I will be focused on bringing the key strengths Orro has across Network, OT/IT, Cyber Security and the burgeoning AI opportunity we face to continue to accelerate Orro’s market share as we move into a new phase of growth.”

As he steps into the new role, he said he will be “working across the business as they focus their strategic efforts on our go to market and bring together the pedigree capabilities to execute our mission to deliver secure, connected, digital infrastructure for Australia and New Zealand customers in the government, enterprise and mid-market sectors.”

Woodward brings more than 30 years of experience in the Australian technology services industry. He co-founded Internet pioneer ZipWorld (acquired by Pacific Internet, now part of Telstra), led Bulletproof Networks through IPO and later acquisition by AC3, and most recently served as CEO of Logicalis Australia.

He also serves as Chair of the Pearcey Foundation’s NSW chapter, is a non-executive director at AI infrastructure provider OrionVM, and sits on the board of in1Bank, an APRA-regulated neobank.

Woodward explained that customers face a bewildering range of options that aim to solve point problems they face every day in securing, automating and accelerating their IT transformation to deliver business outcomes in a cost-effective way.

“The key opportunity I see is to make the process of sourcing, buying and importantly integrating modern IT capabilities into their organisation more straightforward and outcomes-oriented,” he said.

Woodward noted that AI and automation are clearly nascent technologies to help with, but the miasma of options are confusing to many, while so much is changing so quickly.

“Customers need to understand how they are going to continue to deliver outcomes, while ensuring key data is secure, can inform their decisions, and is available wherever in the organisation it is needed. It is bringing these things together securely that customers really want,” he said.

Daniel Greengarten, CEO at Orro said, “Woodward’s appointment comes at a pivotal time in our growth journey. His experience in building and scaling leading technology organisations, combined with a deep understanding of the Australian market, makes him the ideal person to lead our strategy and transformation agenda.

“We’re excited to have him on board to help accelerate our evolution as a truly differentiated technology partner and further solidifying our position as a market leader.”

Wooward ended, “I’m excited about the impact I can make with Orro and across the industry as the new wave of opportunity builds.”
