AWS partner Cevo hires Damian Coyne as new CEO
Coyne is excited about the “immense opportunity” to build on the Cevo platform.
AWS consulting partner Cevo has appointed Damian Coyne as its new CEO.
In his new role, Coyne will lead Cevo’s business strategy, drive new customer engagements and further strengthen its strategic partnership with AWS.
Coyne has more than 15 years’ experience working for companies such as Microsoft, Kloud Solutions, Contino and Versent.
Most recently, Damian was the VP of growth at CGI Australia, following the acquisition of BJSS where he served as regional director.
James Lewis, Cevo’s current CEO, will transition to lead the growth of its public sector business.
In this role, James will focus on expanding Cevo’s services and capabilities for government and public sector organisations, building on Cevo’s AWS partnership.
Speaking to CRN Australia, Coyne said there is “immense opportunity” to build on the success of Cevo’s platform and modernisation competencies by investing heavily in their AI and data transformation, and experience modernisation capabilities.
“Taking an industry lens on our solutions for our clients will be a major focus, ensuring that we deeply understand their industry needs for modernisation, AI adoption, migration and platform enablement through a lens of business value will drive our growth through long-term client partnerships,” he said.
“Our Co-Ops story is one we also need to evolve. Many of our clients aren't quite ready to fully adopt, manage and lead their evergreen technology modernisation plans, so we will continue to ensure we continuously evolve this service as our clients mature.”
Coyne said it has been an “enormously disruptive” few years for the technology industry.
“Be it cost of living impacts, new regulations hitting various industries, the net-zero drive or the constantly evolving landscape for AI, so it's been often difficult to set any long-term strategy that is predictable for businesses like Cevo,” he explained.
“However, there has yet again been significant consolidation in our sector in the past six months with all signs pointing to the majority of clients preferring commercially sensitive, agile and highly skilled consultancies with breadth of capabilities that we either have, or are building in the future.
“We also have multiple industries that are untapped, I'm really passionate about where technology can be an incredible enabler for transformation in healthcare, and Cevo is just getting started in that sector which should be a lot of fun.”
Coyne said he has had the pleasure of working for some of the best brands in Australia that have been award winners, genuine career builders for consultants and engineers and are known for their culture of collaboration, fun and innovation.
“The opportunity to again build on that at Cevo is an opportunity I relish, especially when the result is a healthy, growing business with happy people and happy clients,” he ended.
Cevo delivers migration, modernisation, data and AI programs for commercial and public sector organisations across Australia.
