David Dicker, co-founder, CEO, chairman and director of Australian distributor Dicker Data has left the company to pursue other interests.

While Dicker has stepped down after 47 years leading the company, at the request of the Dicker Data board he will remain as a consultant for the business for the next six months to provide strategic advice on market terms.

Speaking about his leaving, Dicker said in an ASX statement, “Co-founding and leading Dicker Data has been an extraordinary journey, and I am incredibly proud of what we’ve built together.

“As I embark on new ventures, I have full confidence that the leadership team that we put together some years ago will continue to drive the company forward with the same passion and dedication.

He continues, “It is actually business as usual with this leadership team who’ve been a strong executive unit for many years, continuing to ensure our success."

In replacing the industry stalwart, Dicker Data has selected Fiona Brown, the company’s other co-founder, as the next executive chair.

The executive team is now made up of three people, Vladimir Mitnovetski, Mary Stojcevski and Ian Welch, who will report to Brown.

These three have a shared commitment to advancing the company’s mission while continuing to deliver exceptional value to customers, vendors and shareholders.

The company will be holding its AGM on Wednesday May 21 where further information about Dicker’s departing will be released.

The Dicker Data board expressed its sincere gratitude to Dicker for his vision and contribution in shaping Dicker Data into the company it is today.

Dicker co-founded the business in 1978, which has become a leading and respected distributor company in Australia.

The company was the first Toshiba and Compaq distriubtor in Australia. In 2011, the compant listed on the ASX back and acquired Express Data Holdings in 2014.

It also distributes major technology vendors such as Cisco, Microsoft, HP and Lenovo.
