MSP Entag has acquired strategic advisory firm Rubicon 8 in a move to significantly expand its scale, capacity and capability across core managed service solutions.

Backed by the investment and partnership of Anchorage Capital Partners, Rubicon 8 brings network, security and end-point services into Entag’s offering.

Kris Carver, CEO of Entag told CRN Australia, “The acquisition enables Entag to deliver more integrated solutions, including automated platforms for procurement, endpoint management, and expense/asset management,” he said.

“It also allows Entag to invest further in Rubicon 8’s customer portal, enhancing service delivery and operational efficiency for clients.”

Through this acquisition, Carver said Entag is building a “stronger platform” for future growth, enhancing its ability to deliver comprehensive solutions in cybersecurity, cloud-based physical security, cloud services, and automation.

“The acquisition also strengthens cultural alignment and brings together highly skilled teams to drive innovation and customer outcomes,” he said.

Carver noted that no job losses are expected from this merger and he will remain the CEO.

“The acquisition is about growth and capability enhancement,” he said.

“Some leadership roles may evolve to reflect the expanded service offering, but the focus is on collaboration and integration rather than restructuring.”

Carver said the combining of forces dramatically increases their scale, capacity and capability across our core managed service solutions.

“Additionally, our customer will have increased solutions sets across cyber security, cloud-based physical security, cloud services and automated platforms for procurement, endpoint management and expense/asset management,” he noted.

Edward Bostock, managing partner at Anchorage Capital Partners, said the acquisition represents an opportunity to drive innovation and strengthen leadership in the technology services sector.

“Entag and Rubicon 8 have built outstanding businesses with strong customer relationships. We’re excited to partner with both teams to accelerate growth and build a market-leading IT services platform in Australia,” he said.

“By leveraging the combined strengths of both businesses, scaling systems and processes, and deploying the Anchorage value-creation playbook, we aim to create significant long-term value for our customers.”
