HPE appoints Mark Ablett as VP APJ for newly formed Networking arm
More than 25 years of APJ experience under his belt.
HPE has appointed Mark Ablett as the vice president Asia Pacific Japan (APJ) for its Networking arm, following the acquisition of Juniper Networks earlier this year.
HPE Networking is the new organisation that brings together HPE Aruba and Juniper Networks.
In his new role, Ablett will be responsible for driving growth and customer success across the region, overseeing the combined go-to-market strategy and execution for HPE Networking.
Ablett joined HPE in 2024 to lead HPE Aruba Networking's end-to-end business strategy and execution. He brings more than 25 years of experience in the APJ region to this expanded role.
The channel partners of both HPE and Juniper have been a key pillar of success across APJ for many years, Ablett told CRN Australia.
“Under the newly-formed HPE Networking organisation, our partners will remain a top priority and we will continue to strengthen these critical collaborations and partnerships to accelerate our journey together across APJ,” he said.
Ablett said over the next year, they will remain heavily focused on ensuring partners from both HPE and Juniper are successfully integrated and empowered to succeed in the region.
“Starting in August, we will be kicking off training and various information sessions to ensure partners get the support they need and are fast tracked where appropriate,” he explained.
“The next phase for partner programs is scheduled for later this year, when all Juniper and HPE partners, including those in compute, storage, and networking, will be combined into a single partner program, known as HPE Partner Ready Vantage.”
Ablett explained how HPE Networking will ensure partners are supported through this transition period.
“We’re investing significantly to implement solutions across our entire portfolio, starting with campus and wireless, then data centre networking, followed by SASE and security, as well as wide area networking,” he noted.
Ablett said the expanded HPE Networking business will “sharpen its focus” on AI for networking and networking for AI.
“This creates significant new opportunities for partners to deliver more integrated, AI-driven solutions,” he said.
“With the industry's broadest networking and security portfolio, partners are uniquely positioned to offer customers meaningful choice and strong business value across networking, compute, and storage.”
Prior to HPE, Mark served as President of the Digital Infrastructure business unit at Hitachi Vantara.
Ablett began his career in enterprise sales and marketing and has held numerous leadership roles overseeing the APAC, ANZ, and ASEAN regions.
He has also previously held leadership titles within Juniper Networks over a span of almost seven years before moving to Hitachi Vantara.
