Peter Cardassis has been appointed as new technical services director at Logicalis Australia, pledging to focus on technical innovation, operational excellence and customer-centric service delivery.

Cardassis will oversee consulting, implementation, support and managed services functions in his new role.

“The focus will be around building a services business that continues to be trusted, agile and advisory-led,” Cardassis told CRN Australia.

“We're advancing our cybersecurity capability, investing in consulting and strategic advisory and moving to a cloud-smart model underpinned by FinOps,” he said.

This appointment also marks the completion of Logicalis Australia’s leadership organisational structure and follows the appointment of Lisa Fortey as GM of Logicalis Australia in early 2025.

Cardassis will lead initiatives to modernise Logicalis Australia’s technical service offerings and strengthen partner engagements, particularly with Cisco and Microsoft.

With a background in global technology outfits, including stints at Cisco, Dell and NTT, Cardassis brings expertise across consulting, project management, managed services, and technical delivery to the local arm of Logicalis.

Newly installed in the role, Cardassis is firmly focused on strengthening the client focus across the business.

“We're putting our clients and our people at the centre of everything because that's really our strongest asset. That was one of the most impressive things in coming to Logicalis — that relationship with customer,” he said.

According to the company, it wants to support CIOs to deliver growth through technology.

“What Logicalis brings to the table is that experience and capability, which really accelerates the outcome for the client,” he said.

Cardassis is also charged with embedding cyber into the core of its service offerings, which will run the gamut from advisory and design through to managed detection and response.

“We're helping customers build resilience and not just protection,” he said.

While many business have a roadmap in place to uplift their cybersecurity, they still need additional support, particularly as new regulations and threats from AI increase risks and compliance requirements.

Cardassis see opportunities for Logicalis to offer businesses expert guidance as they navigate these challenges.

“Customers need that support and expertise because even if they have their own internal security and risk teams, they don’t have the experience of doing it multiple times and for different situations,” he said.
