Peter Ward appointed DataSentinel strategic advisor to drive partner ties
The data platform entrepreneur’s remit is to help partners drive value from their data with AI in mind.
Peter Ward, founder of Wardy IT Solutions and Microsoft Data Platform MVP, has been appointed strategic advisor to support DataSentinel’s growth in Australia.
DataSentinel, which specialises in managed database, data and analytics, and consulting services, is looking to expand its local presence, including its partner ecosystem.
The business is looking to leverage Ward’s “insight, connections and credibility to accelerate partner engagement,” Paul Capstick, CEO at DataSentiel told CRN Australia.
In this newly created role, Ward will advise on market strategy, partner development and service innovation, with the aim of acting as a strategic bridge between DataSentinel and the channel.
“Peter will help partners understand both the value we deliver and how our services can complement and enhance their existing offerings,” Capstick said.
“Importantly, we’re not here to compete with partners — we’re here to make them more successful.”
Filling the gap for partners to drive value from data and AI
Founded in New Zealand in 2029, DataSentinel soon crossed the ditch and is now supporting several Australian enterprises across the private and public sectors including education, wealth management, transportation and agriculture.
DataSentinel has adopted a ‘partner-first’ model that enables IT service providers to add complementary managed data services to their portfolios.
“Their reputation for practical, outcomes-driven database and analytics services is already resonating in Australia. Together we can help more organisations modernise their data estates and use insights to accelerate growth,” Ward said.
The business is looking to foster deeper engagement by providing support and enablement capabilities for partners to drive business value from their data. It’s an area DataSentinel currently sees as under-serviced for partners.
“Data remains critical for customers, but the required expertise is often hard to find. That’s where DataSentinel comes in – giving partners access to managed database services, consulting, and data and analytics capabilities that extend their value to customers.”
As adoption of AI accelerates, DataSentinel sees it as a key growth area, yet it’s an area where partners struggle to scale without the right support.
“As organisations place increasing reliance on their data, particularly as they adopt AI, DataSentinel enables partners to deliver high-value, specialist services without needing to invest in developing that capability in-house,” the Capstick ended.
