Peter Moore has stepped up as head of partner ecosystem APAC at SAP, he will be responsible for leading and expanding SAP’s partner landscape across the region.

Moore takes over from Utkarsh Maheshwari, who held the position since 2021 before transitioning to the role of senior vice president and head of global partner sales and services, SAP, earlier this year.

Speaking to CRN Australia, Moore explained his plans for the next 12 months which includes deepening alignment between SAP’s strategic priorities and its partner ecosystem.

“That means strengthening our engagement model, accelerating partner readiness and ensuring our partners are equipped to lead in areas like business technology platform (BTP), business suite and business AI,” he said.

Moore said he is looking forward to working closely with SAP’s ecosystem to drive “greater customer outcomes and foster co-innovation that delivers real, measurable impact for our customers”.

“In fact, SAP partners have built over 2,000 solutions on SAP BTP to date. There’s a lot of innovation still to unlock across APAC, it’s an exciting time for partners,” he said.

One of the biggest challenges today for partners Moore noted was the pace of technological change, especially has customers move to the cloud ad demand more integrated, intelligent solutions.

“For our partners, staying relevant means continuously evolving their skills, business models, and value propositions,” he said.

Moore noted that there is a massive opportunity in the channel especially in areas like Business AI, BTP, and industry cloud solutions.

“But it’s not just about technology – it’s about ownership. That’s why we’ve launched our partner-led territory program, an initiative that delegates specific territories – such as a solution area, an industry, or a geographical area – primarily to carefully-appointed partners that meet SAP’s criteria,” he said.

“The initiative allows these partners the maximum autonomy in such territories, while bringing consultation and technical support closer to customers.”

In Asia Pacific, the initiative started rolling out across selected market segments – especially SME-centric ones. Moore said it was released last year in Australia and New Zealand.

“As the initiative matures, we’re learning and applying best practices in preparation for roll-out across more Asia Pacific markets,” he said.

“We’re investing heavily in this partner-driven approach because we know partners are best positioned to support customers on the ground. And the response has been incredibly enthusiastic.

“With the right enablement, partners can lead transformation efforts, and take advantage of the growing demand for AI-driven solutions – because that’s where the users already are.”

Moore said the energy in the channel right now is incredible.

“Our partners aren’t just delivering solutions – they’re co-innovating, co-investing, and co-creating value across industries,” he explained.

“What excites me most is their commitment to customer success and their agility in adopting new models to serve evolving market needs. Whether it’s delivering managed services, or driving digital transformation in industry-specific ways, partners are helping SAP scale impact like never before.

“Their passion, expertise, and entrepreneurial spirit make them a powerful force in SAP’s growth story,” he added.

Moore expressed his excitement to collaborate with SAP’s partners.

“I’m excited to continue working side-by-side with our partners as we help businesses across Asia Pacific embrace transformation, unlock new value, and lead with innovation – particularly in the cloud and AI space,” he ended.
