Wild Tech taps cloud specialist Andrew Kirk to lead move into enterprise market
Strategic appointment part of expansion into enterprise-grade managed services and transformation partnerships.
Wild Tech has appointed former Telstra and IBM exec Andrew Kirk as senior business development manager to spearhead its expansion into the enterprise space.
Kirk has extensive enterprise experience, managing cloud services at Telstra and leading the launch of Microsoft, Amazon and Cisco cloud offerings across Australia and APAC.
More recently, he established Searce’s Australian presence, focusing on Google Cloud and AWS across retail and mining sectors.
In this role, Kirk will focus on aligning managed services with scalable AI, data and Microsoft cloud solutions. He will be responsible for accelerating Wild Tech’s presence in the enterprise market, particularly in government, financial services and retail.
“Wild Tech is not just delivering tech projects, [it’s] embedding long-term capability and service models that evolve with the client and drive the bottom line,” Kirk said.
His remit will be helping organisations modernise operations and build resilient cloud-first environments, with a focus will be on improving productivity.
Kirk believes that digital transformation is an opportunity to adopt new operating models with a focus on core strengths that drive growth. The challenge, however, is improving processes for staff and customers, not simply adopting new solutions.
“More often than not, the challenge isn't about technology per se, more the staff experience and customer experience that drives productivity.
“Enabling staff to a 10-fold efficiency step with improved experience cements productivity. This shift demands innovation with careful change, two dimensions challenging for most [organisations],” he told CRN Australia.
With the integration of AI into many IT tools, Kirk believes there will be a step-change in cost, support and experience ratios that will enable mid-tier organisations like Wild Tech to offer enterprise-grade service.
“It's obvious the technology services market is shifting, nimble providers will win, Wild Tech will be one,” he said.
Looking ahead, Kirk expects AI to continue changing the market dynamics, creating challenges for larger players and new growth opportunities for mid-tier and smaller players.
“The opportunity of AI to shift traditional operating models in the managed services sector is imminent — large multi-national providers will struggle to mobilise and compete,” he ended.
