Rubrik appoints first-ever chief transformation officer to accelerate cyber resilience

Kavitha Mariappan has experience at several tech giants including Zscaler, Databricks and Cisco.

Cybersecurity firm Rubrik has appointed Kavitha Mariappan as its first-ever chief transformation officer.

The company created this role to deepen executive engagement and accelerate cyber resilience outcomes for enterprises and organisations.

Mariappan brings a wealth of experience across enterprise software and cybersecurity, with past executive and leadership roles at various technology giants such as Zscaler, Databricks, and Cisco.

At her previous role, Mariappan was the executive vice president of customer experience and transformation at Zscaler, where she built and scaled the company’s CXO and Transformation Practice.

Her efforts were instrumental in helping the company scale 10X in ARR growth, while shaping industry thought leadership around Zero Trust Security and IT modernisation.

As chief transformation officer, Mariappan said she aims to work closely with Rubrik’s customers, prospects, and go-to-market teams to deepen executive engagement, accelerate market adoption, and lead large-scale customer transformations.

She will play a key role in further strengthening Rubrik’s position as a trusted partner while amplifying its leadership in cyber resilience, regulatory compliance, and industry best practices.

Mariappan said with today’s escalating threats and explosive data growth, cyber resilience isn’t optional—it’s a core business imperative, anchored in the convergence of security, data, and AI.
