Akamai releases updates to its security service provider programs

Akamai Technologies has released new updates to its security certified service provider programs for API security solutions and for Akamai Guardicore Segmentation.

These new updates allow certified partners to offer Day-2 Operations Services related to Akamai API security products and solutions.

Additionally, customers can provide Akamai Guardicore Segmentation technical support directly to their customers.

Speaking to CRN Australia, Caroline Smith, partner account executive ANZ at Akamai Technologies said through these new updates partners can offer particular services directly to their customers.

“Our partners will now be able to offer API and Guardicore integration and managed services directly to their customers and make money from the service piece,” she said.

“It’s clear the market wants a ‘one-stop shop’ experience and we are now able to support that. Partners already managing a range of security services are perfectly positioned to meet that need.

“This new program is designed to help them do exactly that.”

Discussing the changes with their partners, Smith said overall, the feedback has been positive.

“Of course, there’s a time and resource commitment upfront, with partners needing to complete certifications, but once they do Akamai will recognise and promote them as certified partners to end users,” she explained.

“It’s a real opportunity to build a scalable, repeatable business model that benefits the partner, the customer, and Akamai. A true win-win-win.”

Ongoing Day-2 Operations Services are essential for maintaining a strong security posture as organisations refine their segmentation and API security strategies.

Day-2 Operations Services for API security includes, operational and management services, security incident management services, and active testing.

Guardicore Certified Services Partners are now able to provide the full suite of services of the microsegmentation lifecycle from project delivery to 24/7 first-line support to day-2 operations to keep the policy up to date and monitor potential security incidents while maintaining compliance.

Akamai Guardicore Segmentation customers now have a choice to use their local certified partners to provide them the entire services suite.

Day-2 Operations Services for Akamai Guardicore Segmentation includes segmentation administration services, security incident management services, and audit and compliance services.
