Fastly has launched a new partner program offering advanced security training and certification to meet rising customer demand for security expertise.

This new initiative offers security professionals at partner organisations with the training to implement and manage Fastly’s advanced security solutions.

Fastly’s edge cloud platform speeds up websites and apps while protecting them from online threats and is built to give developers more visibility and simplify how they manage applications.

“It’s designed for partners who have technical resources and would like to add Fastly implementation as another service and stream of revenue. All active partners are invited to participate,” said Jeff Alpen, VP of global partnerships, Fastly.

The self-guided certification program is part of a multi-phased approach, with the first phase focusing on distributed denial of service (DDoS), next-generation web application firewall (NGWAF) and client-side protection.

Once completed, Fastly’s partners will have access to a suite of resources, including early insights into the company’s innovation roadmap, invitations to technical labs and webinars and access to future educational content.

The program provides partners with opportunities to add value by delivering certified implementation services. Alpen said it demonstrates the importance of Fastly's partners and is part of the company’s efforts to provide ongoing go-to-market value for its partners.

“We’re continuously trying to add value for our partners,” he added.

Partner organisations will earn the designation of Fastly Certified Services Partner and individual participants will become a Fastly Certified Professional for Security Implementation.

Customers can choose to have Fastly security solutions implemented by Fastly's own services team or a certified local partner. In Australia and New Zealand, the company works with organisations including Foxtel, Linktree and Trade Me.

This security track is part of Fastly’s ongoing certification program and efforts to support partners with enablement resources.

“It allows partners to expand their service portfolios, create new revenue streams and deliver greater value to their clients,” he added.
