Westcon-Comstor signs exclusive NZ deal with Fortanix
Aims to strengthen its security portfolio in the country.
Westcon-Comstor has signed an exclusive New Zealand distribution deal with Fortanix in a move to strengthen its security portfolio in the country.
This partnership will give organisations access to Fortanix’s data security manager platform, and Fortanix partners access to Westcon-Comstor's partner network.
Dave Rosenberg, Managing Director at Westcon-Comstor New Zealand told CRN Australia this collaboration “strengthens” its overall security portfolio in New Zealand, helping them address evolving partner and customer needs in areas such as data privacy, crypto-agility and secure AI.
“By adding Fortanix to our lineup, we’re enabling partners to expand their expertise and deliver solutions that tackle today’s most advanced data security challenges, including preparing for the quantum computing era, which will redefine cryptographic standards and security models,” he said.
Rosenberg explained Westcon-Comstor's goal is to help channel partners build comprehensive data security offerings that address cryptography, regulatory compliance and emerging areas like secure AI and post-quantum readiness.
“This partnership expands the tools and expertise available to partners, enabling them to meet growing demand for unified data security and multi-cloud control – particularly in regulated sectors such as finance, healthcare and government,” he said.
“By combining our distribution capabilities and security expertise with innovative technologies, we create scalable, compliance-ready solutions that protect data throughout its lifecycle.”
Rosenberg said he has seen an increase in demand for security-based solutions.
“2025 has seen a clear uptick in enterprise and public sector demand for cybersecurity solutions in New Zealand, and we’re seeing this first-hand at Westcon-Comstor,” he said.
“Key drivers include rising incident volumes/losses, regulatory pressures, AI-driven threat escalation, CIOs prioritising cybersecurity investments and growing adoption of managed and specialised security services.”
He noted that the coming quantum computing era will further accelerate this trend, as organisations seek to future-proof their cryptographic strategies and secure AI-driven initiatives.
“It’s our job as a specialist, value-added distributor to equip partners with the solutions, capabilities and expertise to rise to the challenge of meeting this demand,” Rosenberg ended.
