Mobilise IT signs strategic on-prem EMM deal with Samsung SDS
From this deal, Mobilise IT will provide a suite of services including, fit-for-purpose consulting and architecture.
Mobilise IT and Samsung SDS have signed a strategic partnership with the solution provider to deploy the tech company’s enterprise mobility management (EMM) infrastructure across Australia and New Zealand.
The MSP will be the sole provider of Samsung SDS’ EMM in the region.
Mobilise IT will provide a fully integrated, locally managed on-premise solution for government and private sector companies, backed by Common Criteria certification for those with Apple and Samsung devices.
Last week, Gum Ki Ho, EVP, President of Samsung SDS Asia Pacific & Vietnam flew down to Sydney to officially sign the deal with Mobilise IT CEO, George Deligiannoudis.
From this deal, Mobilise IT will provide a suite of services including, fit-for-purpose consulting and architecture, infrastructure deployment and solution implementation, and 24/7 support and lifecycle maintenance.
Speaking with CRN Australia, Deligiannoudis said from this deal he wants to bring in new market growth and customers.
"We are the only partner you can source the Samsung SDS EMM product for. That gives us a specific customer edge and channel partner edge to be able to deliver the service. So again, just growing that bottom line processing capability.”
Deligiannoudis said he wants to educate the market that there are air-gapped solutions in the region.
“We definitely think that there's fit for purpose for a number of organisations that still want to use this capability,” he said.
With this partnership, Deligiannoudis wants to try and sign more contracts in both public and private sectors.
“Federal government, and specifically department of defence, ATO services, all of those secure government agencies that need that air gap absolute no risk type capability is one,” he explained.
“Obviously, there are many enterprise organisations that will hear that and follow suit, because they use that federal government base layer as a method of adopting it for themselves internally.”
Deligiannoudis noted one of the things that excites him about this deal is that Mobilise IT can deliver all of the modern features of a device, security and posture control without needing to go to the cloud.
“Uniquely positioning companies in Australia that have an appetite to go absolute high risk, zero threat, this is the only solution of its kind in the world,” he said.
“It excites me in that we can go to defence, we can go to the ATO, we can go to justice and courts in the jail system to say ‘here's how you can control the devices when you give a device to a prisoner, warden or security staff member’.
“And you don't need to open up yourself to the vulnerabilities of the cloud. You have that same level of control and that capability, the technology excites me,” he added.
Deligiannoudis said their stack is mature, and it’s been around for decades.
“The new customer discussions and potential to be able to offer this thing is going to be amazing. It's not for the masses,” he said.
“It's not going to give us 1000s and 1000s of customers. The 10 or 20 customers that need it right now and if you take the total device count, it'd be in the millions, anyway, so it doesn't matter.”
Looking at Samsung SDS as a company, he said they have a “great story” with some “amazing deployments”.
“Samsung SDS secure all of NATO's military devices out the field,” he said.
“So understanding who Samsung SDS is, we're extremely proud as a small Australia based organisation to be their partner here in Australia and New Zealand.”
