MTX APAC acquires Adapt IQ to deepen its roots in NZ
MTX can now offer greater localised program delivery specifically for NZ customers.
Digital transformation consultancy MTX APAC has acquired New Zealand-based Salesforce Summit partner Adapt IQ to deepen its roots within the region.
From this acquisition, MTX APAC will build a dedicated New Zealand delivery and innovation hub and substantially enhancing the company's capability to deliver AI-led, industry-specific solutions.
MTX APAC is also a Salesforce Summit partner. According to the company, this strategic investment directly supports its long-term vision to be the premier technology consulting partner in the APAC region.
Sudeep Acharya, CEO MTX APAC told CRN Australia this acquisition of Adapt IQ NZ was driven by a specific desire to deepen its "boots on the ground" expertise in New Zealand.
“Adapt IQ isn't just a Salesforce partner; they are a Wellington-based Salesforce Summit partner with an excellent reputation, particularly within the public sector and education sectors,” he said.
“By integrating their specialised local knowledge, particularly in navigating NZ’s unique regulatory and procurement landscapes, with MTX’s global AI and data scale, we create a hybrid model that local firms simply cannot match. It’s about combining global innovation with local trust.”
Previously, its APAC operations were primarily driven through its Australian hubs. According to Acharya, this acquisition fundamentally changes their delivery model by establishing a dedicated New Zealand delivery and innovation hub.
“This means we now offer greater localised program delivery specifically for NZ customers,” he said.
“Additionally, we’ve significantly expanded our ‘specialised education’ capability; we can now deliver end-to-end student lifecycle solutions that are specifically tailored to the tertiary and secondary education.”
Through the acquisition, Acharya said their goal is to become the premier technology consulting partner in the APAC region.
“This acquisition serves as the cornerstone of our New Zealand strategy. Beyond just market share, we want to create a ‘two-way bridge’ of innovation: bringing MTX’s global AI accelerators to New Zealand’s government and private sectors, while utilising the deep localised expertise of the NZ team to service our broader Asia Pacific client base,” he said.
“We are building a unified APAC business that leverages the best talent from both sides of the Tasman.”
In terms of staff, Acharya said the impact is “growth-oriented”, he said it isn’t about consolidation but expansion.
“We are actively looking to increase headcount in our New Zealand operations to support the new hub,” he said.
“For existing staff, this provides a massive career path upward, offering local New Zealand talent the opportunity to work on large-scale global projects and gain exposure to MTX’s broader capabilities and service offerings, which was previously only available in our larger global markets.”
Acharya said customers will get the “best of both worlds”.
“Adapt IQ NZ customers keep the local relationships and Wellington-based expertise they trust, but they now have immediate access to MTX’s global ‘accelerators’ and proprietary tools that can reduce implementation timelines,” he explained.
“For MTX customers, they now have a New Zealand-based delivery option, which is a critical requirement for many of our global customers.”
Acharya noted the core of this deal is about AI-readiness.
“Many organisations in APAC are currently ‘AI-curious’ but lack the data architecture to be ‘AI-ready',” he explained.
“This acquisition bolsters our ability to provide the foundational data clean-up and integrations necessary for clients to actually see a return on their AI investment.
“We aren't just selling software; we are building the infrastructure for the next decade of New Zealand’s digital economy,” he ended.
