Beyond the big end of town: Discovery Consulting targets NSW mid-market
Mid-market firms challenged by regulatory complexity, productivity pressures.
Discovery Consulting, a mid-market SAP consultancy, has appointed Mark Miranda to a senior leadership role charged with overseeing the firm’s NSW expansion.
Miranda’s target is to position Discovery Consulting as the preferred SAP mid-market partner by 2028, and his NSW focus will build on the organisation’s successful, existing track record in the Victorian market.
“The objective is to establish NSW as a high-performing, trusted market for the firm, mirroring Victoria’s success through disciplined growth, strong client relationships and consistent delivery excellence,” Miranda said.
“The focus will be on building depth in capability, developing long-term partnerships and delivering outcomes aligned to client strategy.”
Miranda said the challenges facing mid-market organisations when it comes to payroll, HR and finance revolve around spurring growth while maintaining control, resilience and compliance.
Regulatory complexity is also a challenge for mid-market firms, he said, as are productivity pressures and the need for real-time financial and workforce insight. This is particularly the case for organisations operating across fragmented or legacy environments, Miranda observed.
Leaders at mid-market firms are also focused on how cloud and AI-enabled technologies can be applied in a practical, outcomes-driven way to improve decision-making, strengthen operational efficiency and sustain competitive advantage in a rapidly changing market, he added.
SAP is best known for its ERP software aimed at the big end of town. The German software giant targets the mid-market via a cloud-first strategy anchored around the SAP Business Suite.
“[SAP Business Suite] delivers integrated, industry-specific solutions enabling faster time to value and scalable growth,” Miranda said.
“This approach emphasises standardisation, embedded best practices and strong governance allowing organisations to modernise their core systems with confidence and agility.”
Miranda said the opportunity to drive growth in a strategically important market attracted him to the Discovery role.
“Building high-performing teams and delivering measurable outcomes for clients are central to what motivates me,” he added.
