MyCISO appoints Chris Gordon as US Market Lead to continue growth in the country
Gordon will help the cyber vendor expand into the US through developing local GTM initiatives.
Aussie cybersecurity vendor MyCISO has appointed Chris Gordon as its new US market lead as the company continues its North American expansion.
In his new role, he will be spearheading the company’s go-to-market activity and presence in the US.
Gordon will also be working closely with partners, customers and the Australian team to ensure they are “translating early market interest”.
Dane Meah, CEO at MyCISO exclusively told CRN Australia, “This will be focused on developing GTM initiatives with our channel partners, supporting customer interest in the MyCISO platform, and helping us build a stronger local presence across priority markets, particularly state, local, and education (SLED).”
Meah noted that with increasing demand across US SLED, along with growing partner GTM engagement, they wanted to ensure they had experienced people on the ground to execute our strategy.
“The opportunity in the US is significant, particularly with Carahsoft and our new Texas partner, InNet. Gordon brings the right mix of market experience, partner focus and commercial execution to help us build momentum in a very important growth market for MyCISO,” he said.
Gordon told CRN Australia that the US market is a major opportunity for MyCISO.
"Organisations across government, education and the broader public sector are under increasing pressure to demonstrate maturity, manage risk and provide clear reporting to executives and boards,” he said.
“I’ve seen this already in my first few weeks with large government organisations having a massive need for a solution like MyCISO.”
Starting this role, Gorden said, “I’m excited by the combination of a strong product, a clear market need and a company that already has proof points in complex, regulated environments.
“The platform solves a real problem, and the timing is right. Cyber leaders need a better way to manage programs, demonstrate progress and communicate risk in a way the business can understand. MyCISO is very well positioned to support that.”
MyCISO launched in the US three months ago, Meah explained that they were “pulled into the market” due to demand.
“Having Chris on the ground gives us the ability to move faster and be much closer to the market,” he said.
“It means we can better support partners, respond to customer interest in real time, and build more localised GTM activity rather than trying to manage everything from Australia.
“It also allows us to be more deliberate in how we build our US presence. We see the US as a major growth opportunity, but it is a market that requires focus, consistency and local relationships. Chris gives us that local execution capability.”
For now, MyCISO won’t be hiring anyone else in the US.
Meah said, “Our focus is on making sure we have the right capability in the right areas, particularly across sales, partnerships, customer success and product as we scale.
“The US is an important part of our growth strategy, so as momentum builds there, we would expect to continue investing in the team.”
Since starting his role, Gordon said the response from partners has been “very positive”.
“There is a clear appetite for solutions that help customers simplify cyber governance and move from point-in-time assessments to an ongoing operating model,” he said.
“Partners can see how MyCISO complements their advisory, managed service and technology offerings. The conversations so far have been encouraging because partners understand the problem and can see how the platform helps them deliver more value to their customers.”
Gordon’s message to partners is that they are in the US to build “long-term, collaborative relationships”.
“We want to support partners with a platform that helps them deepen customer engagement, create new service opportunities and deliver measurable cyber outcomes.
“We are very partner-led in our approach and want to work closely with organisations that share our focus on simplifying cyber security and helping customers mature in a practical way,” he ended.
