Former Microsoft Asia channel and enterprise ecosystem leader Sarah Bowden has joined Pax8 as senior vice president of sales and marketing in the Asia Pacific region.

Bowden said after fifteen years with Microsoft, it felt like the right moment to step back and see where she could have the most impact next.

“Microsoft gave me an incredible breadth of experience,” she told CRN Australia. “[Where I had] the opportunity to work with partners at every stage of maturity, from startups and ISVs to large system integrators and distributors.”

A role at Pax8 was attractive to Bowden because of the organisation’s clarity of purpose and partner-first model.

Bowden said the channel is going through a significant shift, and “Pax8 is one of the few companies setting the standard for where the market is heading, not where it’s been.”

The shifts in the channel Bowden has observed over the last few years include a change from where partners are no longer just resellers, they’re now trusted advisors, managed service providers and, increasingly, managed intelligence providers for their customers.

She said this shift brings both opportunity and complexity. “In 2026, partners are navigating margin pressure, vendor sprawl, skills shortages, and rising customer expectations around security, AI and outcomes.”

Her plans for Pax8’s relationship with the channel is to enable strong partner engagement by aligning the company’s go-to-market initiatives with what matters most to its customers.

“This ensures our partners remain relevant, competitive and successful,” she said.

Bowden’s strategy for her first six months at Pax8 will focus on listening, learning, and immersing herself in the company’s partners, vendors and teams across APAC.

This foundation, she said, will enable Pax8 to drive sustainable growth, bring clarity to a fast-changing market and ensure the organisation brings meaningful, measurable value at every stage of the partner journey.

The elements of the new role that particularly excite her is the timing and the opportunity to build teams, momentum and capability.

“The channel is at a key moment, and we are well positioned to help partners navigate the changes, rather than being overwhelmed by them,” Bowden observed.

“APAC is diverse, fast-moving and full of innovation, and that makes it an incredibly rewarding environment to lead in.”
