AWS marketplace slashes listing fee for professional services
The price for the listing fee drops to 0.5 percent.
AWS Marketplace has reduced its listing fee for professional services, dropping from 2.5 percent to 0.5 percent.
In a blog post, AWS explained this makes it more “cost-effective” for consulting partners, system integrators, MSPs and ISVs to transact their services through AWS Marketplace, while retaining the procurement and billing benefits that come with it.
According to AWS, the reduced fee complements capabilities purpose-built for the discovery and purchase of services through AWS Marketplace.
Matt Yanchyshyn, VP, AWS Marketplace & Partner Services told CRN Australia that this change reflects the company’s commitment to passing on improved economics to their partners so they can continue to grow together.
“Over the past year, we've invested significantly in making AWS Marketplace a better discovery and transaction platform for professional services,” he said.
“From AI-powered discovery through Agent Mode, to multi-product solutions that let partners package consulting, managed services, and software into a single offer, to variable billing models like time-and-materials that reflect how services are actually delivered.”
Yanchyshyn explained that with those investments, they've increased the value AWS Marketplace delivers as a discovery and transaction channel for professional services and consulting companies.
“Reducing the fee to 0.5 percent ensures the economics match that increased value, making it simpler and more cost-effective for consulting partners, systems integrators, and managed services providers to transact through AWS Marketplace while retaining the procurement and billing benefits their customers expect,” he said.
Those AWS partners with existing professional services listings benefit automatically, with the reduced fee applying to all new private offers going forward while existing offers and subscriptions continue at their original terms.
The fee applies in all AWS Regions where AWS Marketplace operates, across all pricing models and currencies.
