Tech Data has partnered with Group-IB to offer its cybersecurity and anti-fraud solutions across the Australia and New Zealand region.

The new arrangement allows partners to extend their cybersecurity services beyond security operations to brand abuse, impersonation fraud and supply‑chain risk. A broad suite of cyber tools addresses financial, regulatory and operational risk and costs from potential breach investigations.

“This creates higher‑value, cross‑functional revenue opportunities,” said Craig Ashwood, security business unit leader, Tech Data ANZ.

Ashwood said partners are under growing pressure to demonstrate clear ROI from threat intelligence investments and the Group‑IB portfolio provides multi-level protection.

“Customers want actionable, contextual intelligence that supports both security teams and business decision‑makers,” he explained.

Group-IB’s portfolio includes threat intelligence, fraud protection across financial and e-commerce platforms, attack surface management, a suite of detection and response tools and digital brand protection.

“Together, this improves analysis, reporting, and risk reduction, helping partners deliver measurable business outcomes,” he continued.

Identity theft and impersonation are major concerns in Australia, Ashwood noted. Identity fraud is the third most self-reported cyber crime for businesses in Australia, according to the Australian Cyber Security Centre’s 2025 report.

To counter this threat, Group-IB monitors the open and dark web to detect and disrupt impersonation across websites, social media, messaging apps, mobile app stores, marketplaces and malicious domains.

“Group‑IB is well positioned for organisations that prioritise protecting identity and brand reputation,” he said.

In addition, anti‑fraud capabilities are increasingly seen as a source of competitive differentiation in ANZ. Proactive fraud prevention builds customer trust and loyalty, strengthening long‑term brand value, according to Ashwood.

“It allows partners to offer customer data protection with brand safety,” he said.

Tech Data will accelerate Group-IB’s go-to-market strategy by supporting partners with solution design, technical enablement and pre-sales support through its Cyber Security Centre of Excellence, kicking off next month.

“This begins in March with Group‑IB partner university sessions hosted across major capital cities,” Ashwood told CRN Australia.
