Foxtel Business says it will deliver “dependable connectivity” to business customers with new Eero partnership
Accommodation providers looking for smoother entertainment streams could benefit from Foxtel’s new Amazon partnership.
Foxtel Business has announced that it has partnered with Eero to provide mesh-based networking systems to clients with properties comprising 50 rooms or fewer.
Foxtel Business provides systems incorporating not only Foxtel’s core entertainment streaming services but also information, messaging and loyalty offer programs to accommodation providers.
Eero started its business life as an independent mesh networking company but has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Amazon since 2019.
In terms of the Foxtel partnership, Eero will provide mesh networking hardware as well as its proprietary Eero Secure platform for network management, security and monitoring.
Speaking to CRN, Steve O’Connor, managing director of Foxtel Retail, Wholesale, and Commercial said that the deal should help its partners by providing “greater reach and engagement” to their customers.
“Our channel partners trust us to deliver their world-class programming to commercial customers,” he explained.
“Foxtel Business iQ is the only platform built for multi-occupancy environments that provides guests with full access to Foxtel’s extensive line-up of live and on-demand sport, entertainment and news.”
O’Connor also points to the lower overall complexity of Mesh systems in terms of rollout alongside existing infrastructure.
“Ultimately, it’s about removing friction for our commercial customers. By pairing Foxtel Business iQ with eero, businesses including accommodation providers can upgrade their customer entertainment and engagement experience with confidence while dramatically simplifying their day-to-day tech management and otherwise expensive hardware requirements” he said.
According to O’Connor, the deal that sees Foxtel Business become an Eero reseller has specific relevancy for businesses working in regional areas.
“Particularly in regional Australia, smaller hotels and motels consistently tell us that limited Wi-Fi distribution is a challenge, with providers looking for an option to upgrade without costly recabling and heavy investment.”
O’Connor told CRN that working with Eero on this partnership has involved a “fantastic journey so far”.
“Dependable connectivity is a must for delivering great entertainment and customer services in business,” O’Connor ended.
