Above&Beyond ink preferred partner deal with BigCommerce

Sunshine Coast-based web design consultancy Above&Beyond has inked a deal which will see it become a BigCommerce premium partner.

Damien Viero, Above&Beyond director and co-founder, said his company, founded in 2000, was originally a WordPress shop, but demand from customers for ecommerce facilities saw them move much of their business to BigCommerce.

BigCommerce is an Australian ecommerce software provider, powering around 30,000 sites globally.

“Around 80 percent of our work is now BigCommerce focused,” said Viero. “We’ve built around 100 sites using their back-end.”

Customers wanting a commerce facility, but who don’t wish to pay a developer to custom-write one can sign up with BigCommerce and have a site within about twenty minutes.

“If they don’t like what comes out of the box, then they approach a company like us to develop a website for them,” said Viero.

As a Premium Partner, Above&Beyond handle a lot of BigCommerce’s pre-sales work. Customers can sign up for trial sites using Above&Beyond’s site, and the web design firm then gets a monthly ten percent residual on the customer’s ongoing BigCommerce fees.

“There are also other benefits,” he said. “These include a prominent position on BigCommerce’s website, collateral material and marketing support.
