Apple hunts for new channel hire

Apple has advertised for a retail marketing programs manager to drive and maintain relationships with its "carriers, retailers and resellers".

The position, advertised on Seek.com.au on 11th of January, required a person that would "leverage and localise US materials, retail marketing programs and concepts for use in-store across Australia and New Zealand".

Project management of retail programs for store fit outs and refreshes including design, budget management, supplier liaison and merchandising to global brand standards, were also part of the job description.

The Apple retail marketing programs manager would also co-ordinate channel events including training and reseller briefings.

Apple also wants the new hire to develop rotating ‘Plan-o-grams' for reseller locations to reflect featured products, worldwide promotions and key retail seasons.

They would also be responsible for keeping channel teams informed and updated through regular internal and external communications.

Apple won't confirm if the position has been filled and has stayed mum about future channel hires.

"We don't discuss current or future head count or roles and responsibilities other than what we describe in the job posting when recruiting staff," said Rob Small, marketing director at Apple.
