The fixed wireless service provider was notified by receiver, McGrathNicol, that it intends to discontinue providing iBurst services and the network will be shut down and closed no later than 19 December.
Jason Ashton (pictured), managing director at BigAir told the ASX that it’s currently negotiating with a number of other mobile wireless broadband service providers to migrate iBurst customers to alternative services.
According to Ashton, the company doesn’t expect the service closure to impact heavily on its total monthly gross profit.
“The gross profit generated by iBurst service was six percent of the total monthly gross profit,” he said.
“The discontinuation of iBurst services is not expected to significantly impact the outlook for the company other than accelerating its focus on services which utilises its own network infrastructure.”
