Communications Design and Management (CDM) has won a $2.28 million contract to develop a collaboration system for the Department of Finance's One Canberra Avenue site.
The Department of Finance finished relocating its staff to the newly built premises in June 2016. According to a spokesperson, there are about 1400 staff at the location, who will all have access to the new system.
David Welch, CDM ACT general manager, said: "This is a new building, and the comprehensive AV solution is part of a comprehensive IT upgrade intended to foster new ways of working across the department."
The collaboration system CDM will deliver capabilities for presentations, video conferencing, audio visual demonstrations and content display.
CDM has partnered with Rutledge AV for the project. Rutledge, an audio and video provider headquartered in Melbourne, will provide the AV solution design and implementation, while CDM will be responsible for project management and network design.
This contract is not the first time both companies have worked together, according to Welch. CDM and Rutledge AV have previously partnered on projects for the Department of Defence.
Hardware from vendors such as Crestron, NEC, Phillips, Sony and AKG are part of the project. CDM will also provide ongoing service support for four years.
The project is in its first phase, which is expected to last a total of four months.
