CGI appoints new Australian chief

CGI has appointed Robert Dewar as the new senior vice president and business unit leader for Australia.

According to CGI, Dewar will be driving growth in Australia's outsourcing, systems integration and consulting services.

"I am looking forward to leading the teams across Australia to help accelerate the innovation we’re bringing to clients," said Dewar.

Dewar has over 25 years' experience in the IT industry. He started his career as a sales director at Unisys South Africa, stepping up into various roles at the company until becoming the vice president for APAC enterprise solutions in 2014. According to CGI, he has helped deliver results for clients across public sector, financial services, education, commercial, transportation and airline industries.

CGI Asia-Pacific president Colin Holgate said: "Robert’s experience in digital business transformation and previous leadership of cross-cultural teams across the Asia Pacific region will enable our teams in Australia to bring CGI’s innovative services and solutions to clients."

CGI is a Canada headquartered IT and business process services provider. In 2012, after the acquisition of Logica, CGI expanded its presence across Asia, the Americas and Europe.
