Power management vendor CyberPower has added Tech Data as a distributor in Australia, expanding on their existing relationship in the US and Vietnam.
The agreement covers the entire CyberPower Systems portfolio of uninterruptable power supplies (UPS) and accessories.
These include battery backup solutions from 600VA to 900KVA, surge protection and power accessories, power distribution units and its line-up of rack enclosures ranging from 6RU to 48RU.
"This new partnership with Tech Data in Australia will complement our global relationship and enhance our position in the local market," said Brad Andrews, general manager, CyberPower Systems Oceania.
"We are currently seeing unprecedented growth across our Oceanic business and have quadrupled our product portfolio over the last six months."
Wendy O’Keeffe, country general manager, Australia and New Zealand at Tech Data, said CyberPower was "not only are they one of the fastest-growing power management vendor in the region, but they are continually investing in product development, emerging markets and local resources".
It's the first indication of Tech Data extending its massive global vendor portfolio into Australia following its acquisition of Avnet Technology Solutions last year.
The distributor's global CEO, Bob Dutkowsky, had previously told CRN that Tech Data would look to bolster its Australian range, depending on vendors' "different contractual relationships".
"In some cases we would need to apply to the vendor to get their products added to our Australia line card. In other cases, with other vendors where we have global relationships already, anywhere Tech Data launches, a business can launch that product in that geography."
