Secure data exchange vendor Data Republic has hired former Cherwell Software country manager Paul Arthur its first general manager for Australia and New Zealand.

Arthur has previously worked with direct and indirect go-to-market models in his 20-year executive career, working for the likes of BMC Software, Autodesk and A2K Technologies.

Prior to joining Data Republic, Arthur was country manager of IT service management software vendor Cherwell Software from June 2015 until August 2019. Prior to that, he worked for A2K Technologies from 2012 to 2015, most recently as general manager for sales and marketing.

In his new role, Arthur will work with the data sharing vendor’s sales and customer success organisations based in Sydney.

“I am very excited about playing a part in the next growth phase for Data Republic, a company that has broken new ground both in Australia and in the region for data sharing,” said Arthur.

“Many organisations are only just beginning to understand the enormous value and opportunities presented by data and data collaboration. Data Republic is ahead of the curve and I am keen to help enterprise organisations transform through data-driven insights.”

Commenting on the appointment, Data Republic CEO Danny Gilligan said Arthur had a great track record of success in growing businesses.

“Paul joins the team at a really exciting time for Data Republic. Paul has a wealth of experience in high growth technology organisations, which makes him the perfect leader to support our rapidly expanding portfolio of enterprise clients in Australia and New Zealand,” said Gilligan.

“Paul has a real focus on delivering customer outcomes and I’m excited to see him deepen our already strong relationships with major brands like Westpac, Qantas and ANZ.”
