Dell EMC launches hybrid cloud platform for Microsoft Azure Stack

Dell EMC has unveiled a new solution it says will offer a quick and easy way to implement hybrid cloud on Microsoft Azure Stack.

The platform, announced overnight, is designed to help businesses implement hybrid cloud solutions faster, with automated IT service delivery for traditional and cloud-native applications.

According to Dell EMC, the solution will deliver a consistent experience across Azure’s public cloud and private Azure Stack, speeding application development and deployment via a consistent programming surface between Microsoft’s public and private cloud resources.

Peter Cutts, senior vice president, Hybrid Cloud Platforms, Dell EMC, said hybrid cloud infrastructure was playing a big role in modern IT environments.

Making hybrid cloud platforms simple and turnkey enables businesses to rapidly develop and deploy new applications, optimise resources, control costs and deliver the best possible customer experiences,” he said.

Dell EMC’s latest hybrid cloud product is expected to be available worldwide in the second half of 2017.

Phill Patton, general manager for enterprise, service providers and appliances at Dell EMC Australia and New Zealand said while businesses were becoming more aware of the potential of hybrid cloud, implementing the solutions posed some challenges.

“Businesses are realising the opportunities of hybrid cloud, but as a market we haven’t figured out how to fully implement these solutions,” he said. 

“Dell EMC Cloud for Microsoft Azure gives services providers an important role to play in the uptake of hybrid cloud by bringing public and private cloud together in one turnkey solution for customers. We look forward to working with service providers locally to bring a true hybrid cloud model to the ANZ market.”
