Deloitte snaps up Brisbane AWS partner CloudTrek

Deloitte has acquired Brisbane-based AWS partner CloudTrek to bolster its cloud capability for its Brisbane operations.

The consulting giant will take on CloudTrek’s 26 staff of cloud and infrastructure strategists, architects, DevOps automation engineers, developers and support engineers, joining Deloitte’s Technology, Strategy and Architecture practice in Brisbane.

The acquisition will complement Deloitte’s more established AWS cloud migration and infrastructure businesses in Sydney and Melbourne, growing its presence to reach not only Queensland but also Western Australia and the ACT.

“This is an exciting time for our business and our people. We’re committed to developing high impact solutions that unlock the full value of the cloud, across strategy, design, delivery, enablement, optimisation and ongoing management,” CloudTrek managing director Neil Hitz said.

“Deloitte has the same focus. We are all passionate cloud advocates, as are Deloitte. We are a natural fit.”

CloudTrek, an advanced AWS consulting partner, provides advisory, architecture, build and migration services to support cloud adoption and core technology transformation.

The latest acquisition follows Deloitte’s buyout of Sydney AWS partner Strut Digital in May last year, as well as a number of other technology consulting acquisitions since mid-2016.

“Technology is certainly a disruptor, but the right technology solutions also clearly enable organisations to innovate and meet the increasingly complex needs of their customers and stakeholders,” Deloitte chief executive Richard Deutsch said.

“We continue to see significant client demand for technology services built on deep specialisation, and this transaction builds on other technology additions we have made in recent years, as well as Deloitte’s formal collaboration with AWS that includes a global team of more than 2500 AWS cloud practitioners.”
