Dicker Data wins Hitachi deal in enterprise storage push

Dicker Data has launched an enterprise data business unit off the back of a new partnership with Hitachi Data Systems, offering resellers new products for IoT and digital transformation solutions in the midmarket and enterprise sectors.

The distie said the new division would “help partners go to market with pre-integrated end-to-end solutions that simplify the complex IT sales cycle and deliver faster and better data management solutions to support digital business outcomes for customers”.

The deal marks the latest in a string of enterprise data and storage deals for Dicker, which both Dell EMC’s and Pure Storage’s full storage portfolio in May.

The new distribution agreement with Hitachi will see Dicker leverage the vendor’s data, operational technology, IT and IoT offerings for its reseller partners. The deals are hoped to bolster IT providers’ solutions opportunities for customers with growing data sets.

Dicker Data chief executive David Dicker was pleased to announce the new partnership.

“This move further strengthens our portfolio and will provide our mid-market and enterprise customers with yet another alternative solution set,” he said.

“We are also aligning our transformation journeys with the needs and priorities of our reseller partners. Our enterprise data business unit is designed to offer unprecedented opportunities for partners to capitalise on the growing digital transformation market and lead with innovative solutions for the internet of things.”

Phil Teague, Hitachi Data Systems Australia and New Zealand industry and alliances solutions director, said IoT and digital transformation initiatives were rapidly growing in demand.

“As such, enterprises want trusted partners who can help them navigate this journey and achieve their desired business outcomes,” he said.

“With a shared vision and strategy to simplify and accelerate the digital transformation and IoT journey for customers across Australia, HDS and Dicker Data can be those partners.”
