RingCentral, a US enterprise cloud communications and collaboration vendor, has appointed former ShoreTel and Avaya channel executive Ben Swanson as its expands into Asia-Pacific with an office in Sydney.
The vendor's phone services will be delivered from local data centres in Australia with access to direct peering with tier one operators. The vendor will also offer 24/7 technical support and local billing in Australian dollars.
Swanson worked for ShoreTel since 2010 in Sydney and Singapore and was most recently regional director, sales & customer success for Australia and New Zealand before departing in December. Prior to joining ShoreTel, he was a channel account manager for Avaya.

RingCentral has already signed up Brisbane-based Google specialist Dialog IT as its first Australian partner to spearhead its local sales efforts.
