Multimedia Technology (MMT) has signed on as the latest distributor of Fujitsu’s notebooks.
The peripherals specialist will now be responsible for taking the vendor’s full range of Lifebook laptops further into the business market.
The company also distributes Sony’s Vaio and Panasonic’s Toughbook notebook ranges. Fujitsu notebooks are also distributed by Ingram Micro and Westan.
According to MMT purchasing manager Mike Muscat, the deal would continue to build out the company’s offering to take the pressure off its core whitebox and upgrade business.
It would allow the distributor to pitch to the whole of its traditional business reseller partner base.
“With Vaio we are restricted in only being able to sell to VARs,” he said. “With Fujitsu we can sell shopfronts and continue our work in corporate and education markets.”
The distributor would also partner with Fujitsu on a Sydney expo during March to raise the profile of the new deal, Muscat said.
“We held an expo in Melbourne last year and it was a great success with over 500 people coming along,” he said. “We’ll look to do the same in Sydney.”
