Here are the top AWS partners in Australia

Melbourne-based Versent has won the award as Amazon Web Services’ top consulting partner for the second year in a row.

The cloud giant's awards were handed out at the AWS Partner Summit in Sydney on Tuesday night, with winners elected by a panel of AWS experts.

Paul Migliorini, AWS Australia and New Zealand managing director, also revealed that Versent has become an AWS premier partner, the highest certification level, by achieving competencies in security, DevOps, and most recently migration.

Versent's cloud cost management spin-off, Stax, was this week named as a finalist in the Evolving Innovator category in the 2018 CRN Impact Award.

AWS handed out four more awards on the night.

Bryte Systems was named technology partner of the year. Vocus Communications uses the company's BryteFlow tool to manage its large national subscriber base.

BryteFlow also took out an award at last year's CRN Impact Awards in the IP, Product & Platform Innovation category.

BNW Consulting was named specialist partner of the year for its work in migrating Visy’s SAP platform to AWS – another AWS partner that is also vying for a 2018 CRN Impact Award.

Melbourne IT won innovation partner of the year for its work with an unnamed Australian bank.

New Zealand partner Consegna won the rising star award.

Migliorini said: “AWS partners are adding value to customers across a wide range of industries, from banking and finance to resources, the public sector, and increasingly, the Australian and New Zealand startup sector.

“The winners of the 2018 AWS ANZ partner awards are those who understand that customers can access more than 100 services to innovate in a myriad of ways – including some who bring solutions to market and others who have been working with AWS since the launch of the AWS Sydney region more than five years ago.

"We are now seeing some of our partners starting to specialise and collaborate around artificial intelligence and machine learning, to power innovation for customers, in another sign, it’s still day one," Migliorini said.
