Ingram Micro adds microwave radio vendor DragonWave to Australian lineup

Canadian packet microwave radio solution supplier DragonWave Distribution has entered a partnership with Ingram Micro Australia, offering customers new vendor opportunities to bolster networking services across low connectivity areas.

The agreement between the companies will see Ingram grow its wireless vendor portfolio as it offers DragonWave’s products for the Australian channel. The partnership includes DragonWave’s customer care program and is hoped to better service existing customers across the region.

Felix Wong, Ingram Micro ANZ chief country executive, said his team looked forward to building the partnership and offering new microwave solutions to the Australian channel.

“This new agreement with DragonWave allows us to offer more turnkey network solutions with an unmatched, high-capacity microwave solution,” he said.

DragonWave’s Harmony product solution has been designed to provide cost-effective high-bandwidth rural connectivity. It supports dual channel capabilities and can deliver between 4Gbps to 8Gbps in a single radio.

Peter Allen, DragonWave president and chief executive, said the partnership would expand his company’s sales and support capabilities across Australia.

“Ingram Micro will help launch our new Harmony Enhanced MC product line into very important channel markets where wireless networks are playing an ever-increasing role to augment ongoing National Broadband Network fibre builds,” he said.
