Lifeproof set to waterproof Australian iPads

Lifeproof have announced a new line of waterproof cases for Apple's iPad Air and iPad Mini Retina tablets.

The Lifeproof frē and nüüd ranges protect Apple's tablets against water, dirt, snow and shock damage.

The launch follows the acquisition of Lifeproof by former rival Otterbox last year.

The nüüd line uses a "screenless" technology that forms a seal between the case and the touch screen. The frē range uses a thin, transparent film to seal and protect the display against water, dirt and dust.

Lifeproof's ranges of tablet and smartphone cases have previously won awards and were recommended as the best iPad case of 2013 by the CTIA.

The frē and nüüd are available now through the Lifeproof website and selected retailers.

The cases will cost $129.95 for iPad Air users, while nüüd and frē cases for the iPad Mini Retina will cost $119.95 and $109.95, respectively.
